Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill is happy to be linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in recent weeks.

"I suppose it shows how far I have come," Cahill told the Sunday Mercury.

"I don't really take much notice and don't really dwell on all the speculation because it is not as if anything is going to happen at this stage of the season.

"It is just a matter of me getting my head down for Bolton and hopefully it is my performances there which have got me here with England. It was big decision to extend my contract with Bolton recently but one I wanted to make because I am happy playing there and comfortable and settled in the area."
