Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill refused to blame Jussi Jaaskelainen for Sunday's defeat to Liverpool.

It was the goalkeeper's gaffe for Liverpool's opener that set the visitors on their way, but Cahill says: "Jussi has been outstanding and it's once in a blue moon when he makes a mistake like that.

"He usually makes crucial saves which he did after the goal. Nothing is going right at the moment and had we gone 1-0 up, it might have been a different story.

"It's important we re-group and get a win under our belts. But we are more than capable of staying in this league. There are five or six teams sucked in at the bottom. I'm sure it's going down to the wire but we're good enough."
