Gary Speed is on the outer at Bolton Wanderers after his bust-up with manager Sammy Lee.

The People says Speed's offer of a new playing contract has been withdrawn and will stay that way as Lee digs in his heels after a power battle and angry words in the dressing room.

The bombshell decision means Speed's Bolton future would appear to be seeing out the rest of the season before heading for a free transfer. He could even be off in a loan move to the Championship before the next transfer window opens. However, Speed may yet opt to stay and could even dramatically figure in a new management team if the bitter Reebok struggle ends in Lee leaving the club.
