Bolton win so important to Wigan says Al Habsi

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi believes the weekend’s win over Bolton will go a long way to kickstarting the team’s revival this season.

The Latics produced their first Premier League victory in 10 outings when they beat Al Habsi’s former club 2-1 at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday and the Oman international was thrilled to move three points closer to the Trotters who sit second bottom on the table.

"From this game on I think it will change a lot," he said.
"The fans will be more confident in the team and even the players will believe in themselves more.

"This is the biggest three points of the season. It is special for everybody because it was a big derby game and this three points takes us very close.

"If we had lost the gap would have been huge."
