Heerenveen defender Jeffrey Gouweleeuw is being watched by Bolton Wanderers.
Gouweleeuw comes off contract in June and was scouted by Bolton on the weekend against AZ Alkmaar.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle has Gouweleeuw under consideration as a replacement for the departing Gary Cahill.
