Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is keen to secure goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen to a new contract.
The Bolton News says Coyle wants Jaaskelainen's contract situation resolved first before Ali Al-Habsi's exit is rubberstamped.
The veteran Finn has just one-year left on his existing deal and Wanderers fear that, should they hit a stumbling block with Jaaskelainen after allowing Al- Habsi to depart, then they would be left with the inexperienced Adam Bogdan as their first-choice keeper.
Wanderers do not anticipate any problems with Jaaskelainen who is happy to see out his playing days at the Reebok.
