Bolton Wanderers are trying again for Manchester City midfielder Didi Hamann.

The ex-Germany international, 35, signed a pre-transfer contract to join the Trotters when he left Liverpool in 2006.

But he then changed his mind and moved to Manchester City instead - for a compensation payment of £400,000.

City are ready to let Hamann leave as they prepare their own transfer moves and, amazingly, Bolton are the first to make an enquiry into the German's future.
