Bolton and Sunderland are among the Premiership clubs on alert after Ecuador striker Carlos Tenorio revealed he wants to play in England.

He told South American press: "I must say that I am very thankful for all the titles that I have won in Qatar but the truth is that at this point of my career I would like to play for some European team.

"I always think a lot about the Premier League because it's a championship that has great quality. Spain and Italy could be good places to play too but the league that attracts me most is the English.

"For the moment I am still under contract for one more year in Qatar and I have everything that I need and I will always be thankful to these people that have treated me so kindly.

"I haven't received any offers yet so I have to return to Qatar after the Copa America but if a proposal arrives I know that there will not be any problem with the board members of my team because they know that I want to improve as a professional."
