Bolton centre-half Gary Cahill knows he will have to be patient when it comes to his international career.
The 25-year old made his third England appearance with an assured 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Ghana at Wembley last night.
But the Trotters star knows very well that there are plenty of quality players vying for his position and he is acknowledges that he may have to bide his time.
"From my point of view, I think it is just a case of trying to be patient," he said.
"There is a lot of competition for my position in the team. There are players who are older and more experienced than myself."
Cahill will come down from his national team high to give his all for Bolton when they take on Birmingham City at St Andrews on Saturday."
