Bolton stage amazing comeback to draw with Birmingham

Bolton Wanderers have fought back from 2-0 down - and a man down - to draw 2-2 at home to Birmingham City.

Roger Johnson was the centre of attention as Birmingham claimed a first-half lead in a stormy Premier League encounter against 10-man Bolton.

The Blues defender slid in to score his first goal for Blues after just four minutes at the Reebok Stadium.

Johnson was then involved in a moment of controversy before the interval as Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen was sent off for appearing to slap him in the face.

Bolton's 10 men were left facing an uphill struggle after Birmingham claimed a controversial second goal five minutes into the second half.

Cameron Jerome looked fractionally offside as James McFadden crossed into the area but the flag stayed down as the striker headed back across the six-yard box.

With the Bolton defence static, Craig Gardner was the first to react and he prodded the ball past Adam Bogdan at the second attempt following a miskick.

Bolton won a penalty 21 minutes from time as Johnson was penalised for climbing on the back of Kevin Davies.

The Bolton skipper emphatically reduced the deficit as he thumped the ball into the top corner.

Then inside the final ten minutes, Robbie Blake finished superbly past Craig Foster for an equaliser and to complete a stunning comeback.
