Bolton slap £3million price tag on defender Meite

Wanderers boss Gary Megson has stressed to West Brom that Abdoulaye Meite will not be allowed to leave The Reebok for less than the £3million asking price.

Fellow Premier League new boys Hull City were told the same thing when they were pursuing the defender.

Albion are understood to have offered Bolton £1million plus defender Paul Robinson, but Megson is only interested in a straight cash deal because he wants to buy a replacement for Meite, who does not figure in his plans for Wanderers.
