Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Nolan admits their survival prospects look "bleak" after defeat at Wigan on the weekend.
"It's very disappointing to hear that and to see the anger in their faces. But we are hurting just as much as they are.
"I'd just plead with them to please stay with us. We have nine games to go and, although I believe we will get out of it and stay up, it looks bleak.
"It was very disappointing losing to Wigan, but I certainly believe we've got the ammunition, the team, the work ethic and the individuals to make sure we are in the Premier League next season."
