Bolton skipper Nolan: Disaster if Megson left

Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Nolan says it would be "a disaster" if manager Gary Megson was dumped in the summer.

"It would be a disaster if we lost the manager," Nolan told the Daily Mail. "We would become one of those clubs that is known for constantly changing managers and that would be embarrassing.

"I would hate that. I would hate to be part of one of those unstable clubs. Look at the clubs in the league who have been most stable: United, Arsenal and Everton. What do they have in common? They have stuck by one manager.

"A while ago, Everton had two bad seasons and people called for David Moyes' head. They said he was rubbish. But Bill Kenwright kept his cool and look at them now.

"It's the same at Manchester United. Wasn't Fergie on the brink once? How ridiculous does that look now? Newcastle have made the mistake of sacking Sam Allardyce. He would have turned that club into something if they had given him the time.

"We need stability at this club after this season. We simply cannot change the manager again."
