Bolton skipper Nolan always had faith in Elmander

Bolton Wanderers feel they have a quality striker leading the line in Johan Elmander, says skipper Kevin Nolan.

Nolan said: "In the last four or five games the goals started flooding in and we've had a bit of luck. Johan came to the Premier League from France and it was probably a bit of a shock to him.

"He scored on his debut but it was always going to take him time to bed in. He got a hamstring injury as well which set him back but now he looks a different player.

"Johan is really sharp, especially round the box. I always had faith he would come good because you could see it in training.

"He was unlucky not to come off with four goals when we won at Sunderland last weekend. His awareness is great and he's someone you can feed off."
