Bolton skipper Davies still hopeful of England chance

Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies doesn't expect a call-up to the England squad.

After victory over West Ham, Davies said: "I'd love it to happen. Now I'm captain it's probably the most enjoyable time of my career. I've had a few close calls but hopefully I'll get the chance."

Bolton manager Gary Megson added: "If Fabio Capello wanted Kevin to get hold of the ball at his feet and do pirouettes, then he's not the right kind of player. But he's as good as anybody in the country at what he does. Upson couldn't handle him."
