Bolton skipper Davies hints no love lost with Liverpool boss Hodgson

Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies hinted at no love lost with Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson signed Davies for Blackburn 12 years ago and the move to Ewood Park proved a flop for both of them.

Davies said: "Blackburn at the time was a difficult place and I wasn't particularly happy, but the experience made me the man and player I am today.

"I feel stronger for that and we've both come out the other side. Roy Hodgson is a top bloke and brilliant coach and I'm sure he'll use his wealth of experience to pull Liverpool round.

"It's important he has time, but we all know it's all about results and football can be ruthless at times, so no doubt he's feeling pressure with Liverpool in the bottom three.

"I hope he's whingeing after the match just as other managers have when we've had big scalps in the past.

"It's been about how other teams have played and we've rarely been given the credit we've deserved.

"But I think we're starting to get credit this year. We're playing better football and that's through the confidence we've gained.

"Liverpool are still one of the big boys, one of the teams you want to scalp.

"But we feel we can be a match for anyone. We proved that against Manchester United and everyone here was disappointed with a draw."
