Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies has given up on being called into the England squad.
The forward has been a consistent performer over recent seasons and England boss Fabio Capello was at the Reebok Stadium for last weekend's draw with Tottenham.
Davies scored in the 2-2 share of the spoils with Spurs, but was not a selected in Capello's squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Belarus.
The 32-year-old was not surprised by his latest international snub and has resigned himself to concentrating on his club football.
"It's not something I am really thinking about," he told the Bolton News.
"There was a stage last season where I was in a couple of long squads and, in one of the games, six or seven strikers were injured and I wasn't used.
"For me, if there are that many strikers out, then it's not really going to happen. It is nice to be in his thoughts but I am not really thinking about it.
"For me it's about my performance at Bolton."
