Bolton skipper Davies demands answers after Portsmouth collapse

Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies says surrendering a 2-0 lead for their 2-2 draw with Portsmouth wasn't good enough.

Davies will be conducting his own inquiry over the next few days, to try and find some reasons behind the Whites' Jekyll and Hyde performances over the last fortnight.

"Everyone is absolutely gutted and we only have ourselves to blame," he told the Bolton News.

"We were all saying the right things at half time but we just never got out of the traps in the second half. It's hard to say exactly what went wrong - that's what I'm trying to find out myself.

"Two-nil can be a difficult scoreline. You're comfortable but you know a goal brings them back into it. I thought you could see the goals coming in the second half.

"Sometimes you just feel powerless as a side, and I don't know what it is. We looked edgy for whatever reason, because we shouldn't have been like that after the first half performance - it should have been three, four or five."
