Bolton Wanderers skipper Kevin Davies is backing teammate Gary Cahill to make England's World Cup squad.

After their 2-2 draw with Tottenham, Davies said: "Gary was excellent again and he has been so consistent for us since he came here.

"He deserves a chance to play at the highest level. I am sure he will do very well for England if called upon."
