Bolton Wanderers signing David Ngog had no problem playing in the shadow of Chelsea striker Fernando Torres when he was at Liverpool.
The Frenchman joined Liverpool in 2008 but started just 21 league games, with 53 substitute appearances. But he now hopes to establish himself as a regular after a £4m deadline-day switch to the Reebok.
Ngog said: "When you're at a club like Liverpool you accept it. It made me stronger. You want to be close to the best and Fernando is one of the best.
"He [Torres] is one of the best strikers in the world and he was consistent in scoring a lot of goals. You learn about a lot from players like that."
