Bolton Wanderers fullback Tyrone Mears admits he considered another move to Europe while waiting to leave Burnley.
Mears enjoyed a season in France with Marseille and scored for them against Ajax in the UEFA Cup quarter-final before Coyle took him to Turf Moor two years ago.
"I did have it in my mind that I might go and play abroad again," he told the Bolton News.
"I enjoyed my time at Marseille but I knew I needed to come back at the time and have a good go at the Premier League, which I did at Burnley.
"I'd thought about a move away again - but then Bolton came in, and it's a perfect move for me."
