Bolton Wanderers are selling Kevin Nolan to Newcastle United.

The Sun says Nolan will complete his £4.5million switch to crisis club Newcastle today.

Nolan's departure from the Reebok is another monumental blow for Gary Megson, who took abuse from fans after the 2-2 draw with Blackburn.

Nolan, 26, has played over 300 games for Wanderers and wants to try and break into the England team.

A Bolton source said: "Kevin probably feels this could be his last chance to move to a so-called big club.

"He was a vital player in the Sam Allardyce era but probably feels things have not been the same since Big Sam left. He thinks it's time to move on."
