Bolton Wanderers are seeking a loan deal for Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.

New boss Sammy Lee wants to take the French international, 25, for the whole season.

Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside said: "Sammy Lee is looking to build a squad for next season."

Cisse - who cost Liverpool £14m from Auxerre in July 2004 - spent last season on loan at Marseille.

And with Rafa Benitez looking to spend big in the summer, there is unlikely to be a place for him at Anfield.
