Bolton Wanderers defender Danny Shittu has left the club effective immediately.
The 29-year old Nigerian international has spent the past two years at Reebok Stadium but has been released from his current deal as the Trotters finalised their Premier League squad for the season.
Shittu joined Bolton from Watford in August 2008 but struggled for regular game time, appearing just 12 times in the league.
His professional career kicked off in 1999 with Charlton Athletic where he experienced loan spells with Blackpool and QPR before joining the Rangers permanently in 2002. He spent four years at Loftus Road before moving onto Watford.
