Bolton's Steinsson: 'There's a lot at stake'

Bolton full-back Gretar Steinsson is well aware that there is plenty at stake for his club in the final six matches of the Premier League season.

The Trotters sit 16th on the table, just on point ahead of QPR, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic, and Steinsson knows that this is the time of the season when the players really need to perform.

Bolton lost 2-0 at Newcastle United yesterday after making most of the running early and Steinsson wants that hard-working performance to go into the remaining games so the club can remain in the top flight.

"Now we have a chance to realise what is left and that is six big games," he told the club's official website.

"Everyone knows how big these matches are. We've got the experience and the players and we have to keep working hard like we did against Newcastle to ensure the results go our way.

"We've got the best part of two weeks to prepare for the next game. We've got to get points at home but I do think that this season will go down to the last day.

"There's a lot at stake. Everyone realises how big these next six games are and when we are playing well we have to be more ruthless and take the points when they are in our hands."
