Tim Ream acknowledges it is a tough slog trying to avoid Premier League relegation with Bolton but says he wouldn’t change his decision to leave New York Red Bull.

The 24-year old centre-back joined the Trotters in January and has been fighting hard for the clubs survival ever since with the Reebok Stadium outfit sitting 18th on England’s top flight table.

But Ream does not look back on his big move to Europe even though he is now having to worry about such a thing as relegation.

"It's definitely a different dynamic coming from a league that doesn't have relegation. And I think that's where the pressure side of it comes in," Ream told The Independent.

"You don't really feel pressure game-in and game-out like you do here.

"It's not fun by any means. It makes for some ugly games, and some rough games.

"But what it comes down to is just fighting, fighting to stay up. That's the biggest thing. It doesn't matter how you do it.

"At the end of the day, we're the ones trying to stay up and fight not to get relegated."
