Bolton's Dann lands surprise Guyana call-up

Bolton midfielder Neil Dann has been called up to the Guyana national team.

The 32-year old Liverpool-born Trotters ace is eligible to represent the South American nation through his grandfather and is now in line for his international debut in upcoming friendlies with Saint Lucia and Grenada.

Guyana take on Saint Lucia in Georgetown on March 22 before meeting Grenada a week later and former Crystal Palace man Danns is excited about the prospect of making his national team bow.

"It's a new experience going to play at an international level and obviously a different tempo and different styles of matches," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"It's one I look forward to being involved in. When I first got the call I was actually really excited because I've never really thought about it.

"It never crossed my mind that I would get an opportunity to play international football, and as soon as I got the call I was excited and really, really enthusiastic about it."
