Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is keeping tabs on Bordeaux striker Cheick Tidiane Diabaté.
Coyle feels they're a striker short after failing to re-sign Danny Sturridge from Chelsea last summer.
The Scot is now having Diabate watched leading up to January, but will face competition from Sunderland should Bordeaux indicate a willingness to sell.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce sees Diabate as a replacement for Al Ain loan signing Asamoah Gyan.
