Bolton poised to resign Gudjohnsen

Championship side Bolton Wanderers are set to sign striker Eidur Gudjohnsen, 14 years after he left the club. The 36 year old spent two years at Bolton between 1998 and 2000 before moving to Chelsea and then Barcelona.

"If there are any hold-ups it will be a minor thing and I hope to have him in the squad for the weekend," boss Neil Lennon told BBC Radio Manchester.

"I think he'll be a big-game player and enjoy the occasion. It will take him a little bit of time to adjust to the Championship and the quality of player he's used to playing with.

"We need that type of player with Mark Davies out and Chung Yong-Lee might not be here [because of international commitments] in January."
