Bolton Wanderers player-coach Gary Speed doesn't want any favours in team selection.
"I feel really fit. I'm doing some coaching now but playing is still my priority and nothing will get in the way of that.
"I'd only want to be a manager once my playing days are over. I don't think being a player manager is possible these days."
Speed, who lines up against old club Everton today, is also not afraid to drop himself.
He added: "I said to the backroom guys when the first team was picked in pre-season: 'If you think I shouldn't be in, you've got to say it'.
"If a couple of coaches don't want me in the team, no problem. It's what is best for the team - not for Gary Speed."
