Bolton Wanderers assistant boss Chris Evans admits they had a difficult summer market.
"We have attempted to sign a number of different strikers through the window - but there are factors that have had to fall into place," he said. "We have got to want to do it, the other club has got to want to sell at the right price at a time when they have to get someone else in, and obviously it has to be at the right price.
"At this stage of the season to get all that falling into place can often be quite difficult, especially when the market place is like never before.
"Whether it will ever be achieved again, I don't know, but over the last few days we have gone over the £1billion mark spent from one summer window to the other.
"These numbers are extraordinary and represent certain forces having an effect on the British game. Money is coming from billionaires, oligarchs and consortiums and it drives the market force up."
