Clint Bolton has been named Melbourne Heart's Player of the Year for the second season in a row.

The 36-year old goalkeeper backed up his award in the clubs inaugural A-League season last term by again capturing the Heart's top individual prize.

Bolton won the award ahead of young striker Eli Babalj, attacking midfielder Mate Dugandzic, captain Fred and defender Michael Marrone with head coach John van 't Schip full of superlatives for the former Sydney FC man.

"Clint's professionalism and thorough approach to match day preparation and training has allowed him to perform at an elite level for an incredibly long time," van 't Schip said.

"Throughout the season, Clint was called upon time and time again to produce key saves and guide our defence, which is among the key reasons we were able to qualify for the Finals Series.

"On behalf of everyone at the Club, we congratulate Clint on his achievement and the consistency he has now demonstrated across two seasons."

Other award winners on the night included Bolton and Fred joint-winning the Supporters Player award, Aziz Behich receiving the Best Clubman award and Babalj taking the Golden Boot as leading scorer.
