Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies believes the team need to toughen up mentally in the coming weeks.

He was disappointed at the outcome of the UEFA Cup match when Bolton failed to hold on to a lead after substitute El-Hadji Diouf had made the breakthrough.

He said: "We need to be a bit more resilient and defend better to close the game out.

"Under the circumstances, 1-0 should have been enough for a win, so we are gutted not to have held out for one."
