Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is in talks with St Etienne striker Pascal Feindouno as the shock replacement for Nicolas Anelka.
Megson has sent an agent and chief scout Colin Harvey to the Africa Cup of Nations to open talks with the £3million-rated Guinea attacker.
Wanderers are even prepared to put up with Feindouno, 26, being in Ghana.
