Bolton move to beat Liverpool, Man Utd for Crewe youngster Clayton

Bolton Wanderers aim to trump the country's biggest clubs in the race for Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton.

The Sun says the striker, 18, is being watched by Manchester United and Liverpool but Bolton boss Dougie Freedman hopes to seal a deal by offering first-team football.

Crewe may have to sell to keep their heads above water.
