Bolton midfielder O'Brien determined to make most of Sheffield Wednesday move

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Joey O'Brien is determined to make the most of his loan move to Sheffield Wednesday.

A series of debilitating injuries have curtailed the Irishman's career, restricting the 25-year-old to just 70 appearances in seven seasons at the Reebok.

"I haven't played a lot in the last two years; when I got the chance to come here and get some games, I jumped at it," he told the Bolton News.

"Gary Megson did a good job at Bolton. I'm delighted to come back here, and I've got the memories of when I played here when I was 18.

"Then the injury curtailed my career. Hopefully I can play a few games here and get my career back.

"Obviously I have to get in the team first. Hopefully I can get some games under my belt, play well and then see what my options are.

"I know the manager, I know the club; being here just seems to fit."
