Bolton management confident Klasnic can make impact

Bolton Wanderers are delighted with their loan capture of Nantes striker Ivan Klasnic.

The striker has already bagged four goals in five games for Nantes in France's second tier this season - and Wanderers assistant Chris Evans believes his past record suggests he can do the same on this side of the English Channel.

"He has never gone less than one goal in three," he told the Bolton News.

"Up until last week, he'd scored 87 in 113 starts and got another one the other night, and an assist.

"He has a very good record and we're delighted to have him here."

Evans also revealed that the Whites had tracked the 29-year-old since losing Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea in January 2008.

"He isn't someone who has just come on to our radar," he said. "He's a player we showed an interest in during the first January window we were here, when we lost Nicolas.

"He was on a list of strikers we had compiled back then. His record speaks for itself."
