Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has pulled back from his pursuit of Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome.
The Daily Star says Coyle had hoped to pip Stoke City for Jerome's signature following Birmingham's relegation to the Championship.
Bolton were initially scared off after the Blues slapped an £8m price tag on the hitman, 24.
However Coyle was still confident of striking a deal with his close friend Alex McLeish.
