Bolton Wanderers are moving for Sunderland defender Matthew Kilgallon.
The Sunday Mirror says Owen Coyle is locked in a £2million fight with Gordon Strachan for Kilgallon.
Bolton boss Coyle and Middlesbrough chief Strachan have identified the former England Under-21 international as the defender they need.
They will make their moves this week now that Kilgallon has confirmed his recovery from a muscle injury.
Kilgallon, 26, who returned to full training five days ago, has struggled to make an impact at Sunderland following his £1.75m switch from Sheffield United last January.
