Bolton made QPR's return to the top flight a day to forget with a commanding 4-0 performance at Loftus Road this afternoon.
Owen Coyle's Trotters began slowly but when they got into the match, they gave Neil Warnock's R's no chance to get back into proceedings, scoring three times in the second half to temporarily put themselves on top of the league table.
In-demand defender Gary Cahill kicked it off for the visiting Bolton side with a fabulous 20-yard curling effort in stoppage time of the first half before a Danny Gabbidon own goal in the 67th minute made life extremely difficult for QPR.
When Ivan Klasnic's deflected shot found its way into the back of the net in the 70th minute, there was no way back for the home side who copped a fourth with just over ten minutes remaining when Fabrice Muamba calmly slotted home a swift counter-attack - the final pass coming from Klasnic.
To make matters worse for QPR, Clint Hill was shown a red card in injury time for pushing his head into Martin Petrov's head, and reports have indicated that summer signing Kieron Dyer's horror injury run has continued with a suspected broken metatarsal sustained inside the opening ten minutes.
