Paul Robinson expects Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle to move quickly in the market to replace broken leg victims Chung-yong Lee and Tyrone Mears.
Robinson is confident, however, that his manager will act decisively in the transfer market to plug the gaps.
"It's a devastating blow losing Chung-Yong Lee because he's been on fire in pre-season," he told the Bolton News.
"He was looking fresh and seemed to be playing with a smile on his face so it's upsetting to see this kind of thing happen.
"Tyrone was another freak accident. He's out for six months now, so it's not as if we're picking up injuries for two or three weeks. Sean Davis, Sam Ricketts, Stu Holden - we're not having any luck at all.
"Hopefully the gaffer can work his magic and bring a few new faces in before the window closes.
"It's difficult at the moment because a lot of teams try and build their squad around those first few games of the season and then take it from there. It's only then they know what players they do and don't want."
