Bolton fullback Robinson backing West Brom to end yo-yo days

Bolton Wanderers fullback Paul Robinson is backing former club West Bromwich Albion to beat the drop.

Robinson hopes he will be able to visit his former club in a Premier League fixture again next season, as Roberto di Matteo's side look to make good on their encouraging start back in the top flight.

"I'm appreciative of the reception I got from certain fans," he told the Bolton News. "I had a great six years at West Brom and have some great memories, so the fans that boo aren't going to take them away from me.

"They're not going to change the way I play, so I'll let them get on with it. I'm not bothered.

"I just enjoyed the good times I had here. I caught up with a few of the players I played with and they knew that I just wanted a fresh challenge. It was as simple as that.

"Now I hope they can get rid of that yo-yo club tag, because I was sick of it when I was here.

"I'm hoping now that they can cancel that out and build on it each year."
