Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is unimpressed by Manchester City's approach to talks over £17 million-rated defender Gary Cahill.
The Bolton News says City want to offload fringe players such as Shaun Wright-Phillips, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz and Jo to lower the wage bill before committing fully to a bid for the 25-year-old defender, but thus far, only Wright-Phillips has indicated that he would be willing to move to the Reebok.
Coyle would prefer a defender but has been knocked back by Dedryck Boyata and it yet to hear whether Nedum Onuoha would be willing to switch clubs.
It seems likely that Jerome Boateng will be leaving City for Bayern Munich after failing to dislodge Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany at centre-half, where Kolo Toure should also return to contention in September after his drugs ban.
