Bolton earn first home win of season

Bolton enjoyed a thrilling late 3-2 victory against Everton at the Reebok Stadium. The Wanderers raced into a two goal lead through Chung-Yong Lee and Gary Cahill.

But Everton hit back either side of the break through Louis Saha and Marouane Fellaini, with debutant Lucas Neill the provider on both occasions.

But substitute Ivan Klasnic scored in the 86th minute to compound a miserable week for Everton, whose 5-0 Europa League mauling by Benfica on Thursday was the heaviest defeat in their European history.

Everton boss David Moyes: "We worked very hard to get back in the game, but we should never have got ourselves in that position in the first place.

"We seemed to run out of steam in the last 20 minutes, but we were poor at the back today and it cost us.

"It's not like us, we're normally tougher, but we're a bit soft-centred at the moment."

"Well at the end I suppose it's a mixture of relief and obviously delight that we've come away with the three points," Bolton chief Gary Megson told Sky Sports.

"And a great deal of pride because we played some great stuff, mixed in with some average stuff that meant the game was as tight as it was.

"But they keep going, they never give in, they battle for every square inch of grass on the pitch.

"At times we just need to improve that quality and at 2-0 really we should go on there and the game shouldn't have panned out as it actually did.

"It's a really good victory both in terms of how we've won and also who we've beaten.

"There was an occasion there at 2-2 where we're trying to win it but in trying to win it we nearly lost it because I think they had a break of about four on two and Fab Muamba did fantastically well to get in and I think take it off Gosling's toes.

"The one thing I've never ever done at Bolton is come in and criticise a lack of effort or a desire or honesty on behalf of what they do."
