Bolton boss Gary Megson has ended his interest in Celtic defender Bobo Balde.

Megson has money burning a hole in his pocket following the sale of Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea and he is intent on beefing up his squad.

Giant defender Balde had crossed his radar, but Megson has now confirmed he has contacted Celtic to say he will not be following up his interest.

"We're not going to pursue that one any further," said Megson. "We've spoken to Celtic and given our reasoning, so now we'll look elsewhere."
