Bolton defender Cahill frustrated over Wigan cancellation

Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill was left frustrated after their game with Wigan was called off yesterday.

The Latics were forced to call off the Barclays Premier League fixture with their local rivals as they were unable to guarantee the safety of supporters due to the severe icy conditions around the DW Stadium.

Although Bolton were hoping to build on the results of last week against Manchester City and West Ham, Gary Megson's side will now have to wait for the Boxing Day match with Burnley at Turf Moor.

"Obviously we are on a good run and we have done well in the last two games, so it is a disappointment because we had prepared for the game in the last week and we were ready to go," said Cahill on bwfc.co.uk.

"We met up at the Reebok this morning in preparation for the game and then we got the news at about 12 o'clock, so we had a training session instead.

"In that sense the week just continues normally because we will be in again tomorrow. Everything is now set up for Boxing Day."
