Bolton chief Duckworth: Finances rock solid if relegated

Bolton Wanderers chief Allan Duckworth says the club could survive relegation.

In a week where financial experts Deloitte cast doubts over Hull City's ability to stay in business if they were relegated from the Premier League, Whites fans have been assured that contingency plans are in place should the worst ever occur.

"The Premier League is very important," Duckworth told The Bolton News. "People are always going to speculate about this kind of thing, no matter who you are, and there's no hiding from the fact that it would be difficult for any club to drop out of the Premier League.

"You have always got to have a business model that takes account of situations that may arise. We would have to adapt, and there are contingencies we would have to look at if that happened. But we see ourselves as a club moving forward now, and we're planning for a future in the Premier League."
