Bolton caretaker boss Evans admits January signings unlikely

Bolton Wanderers caretaker boss Chris Evans doesn't expect new signings to be made this month.

Chairman Phil Gartside is currently scouring the market for a replacement for Gary Megson, who he sacked on Wednesday.

Evans said: "The manager, myself and Colin Harvey, our chief scout, had targeted various options through our well defined recruitment network covering both domestic and European players.

"But, obviously, we've got to be respectful that a new manager will shortly arrive at the football club. He'll have his own ideas.

"I think what we have to do now is concentrate solely on football. We have to concentrate on each game as it comes.

"I'm sure the incoming manager will feel, as the old one did, that it would be nice if we could freshen up certain areas, but for now it's not something that we can really think about."
