Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson admits they'll have to pay over the odds if they're to buy this month.
"What makes a deal happen in the main in January is money," he said. "Last January, at the time, I thought we over-spent on all three players we brought in.
"It is only afterwards that you can turn around and say they weren't bad deals.
"Gary Cahill is looking a decent buy for £5million, as is Matty Taylor, and Gretar Steinsson cost £3million and we're not looking at them now and thinking it was way over the odds.
"You do have to pay over the odds and we are not a club who has got that kind of money."
