Bolton Wanderers failed with a deadline day bid for Reading striker Leroy Lita.

Reading, who face Bolton tomorrow, rejected Gary Megson's swoop but he hinted he could try again for the England Under-21 ace in the summer - providing Wanderers avoid relegation.

He said: "We had a £7m bid turned down - that shows our intention to get out of this position - but it may be a goer in the summer."
